Prop News : The PropPeople.com Newsletter Vol. 1, Issue 5 3/19/2000
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

Hello fellow props people!

I just got home from a strike, so I don't have the time or energy for a
full newsletter this week. Instead I'll give you a quick rundown of
what's been going on with PropPeople.com for this week.

The Props Listserv had a pretty good start. As of today, 30 people
are signed up for it, and we've had a few good exchanges of
information this week. I think that the Listserv is going to be a
valuable tool for us in the future, and I encourage those of you who
haven't signed up yet to do so. For subscription instructions and
guidelines, go to this page:

I'm off to Denver on Tuesday to attend the annual USITT conference.
I'm happy and excited to announce that I will be on a panel of prop
masters that will be presenting on Saturday, March 25th, at 10am.
Drayton Foltz, the production manager at San Jose Rep, asked me to
be on the panel after seeing PropPeople.com (thanks for forwarding
the info Mary Kay!). I'm not really expecting to see many props
people there, but I'll be spreading the word about the site to anyone
who will listen. I'm also going to sound people out on what it would
take to get more props oriented content into USITT, and to push for
a USITT comission for props. I'll give a full report when I return
next week.

Looking for a job for the summer or for next season? Then you
should definitely check the job board. I've been receiving lots of
submissions, and the board is getting quite full. As always, if you
have an opening, just send me the info and I'll post it. Here's the link:

I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but I have to say that it
isgreat to see the discussion board starting to take off. Almost
every time I checked it this week there were new posts. It looks like
some people got much needed help! If you haven't signed up for it
yet, I encourage you to do so, and start posting! Here's the link:
